Join us for an evening of art, culture, and pizza as we celebrate the student artists awarded the 2017 “World Heritage City Prize!”
The student artists are invited along with their families, teachers, and principals to view their art on display at the Philadelphia International Airport and be honored for their artistic achievement. The students will get to show off their artwork, meet Philadelphia International Airport CEO Chellie Cameron, and take photos with the stars of the Philadelphia World Heritage Coloring Book, Caleb and Olivia. Pizza will be provided.
This is also an opportunity for student journalists!
We would like to invite student journalists to this event and offer them the opportunity to get the scoop on the exhibit and to learn more about the Philadelphia World Heritage City Project from the Global Philadelphia Association team. If your school has a journalism program or project, please invite them to join us!
About the Exhibition
The selected artwork was chosen from the 2017 School District of Philadelphia's annual city-wide student art exhibition "Celebrating World Cultures." This exhibition is a collaboration between the School District of Philadelphia, the Global Philadelphia Association, and the Philadelphia International Airport. The students represent 18 schools and range from Kindergarten to 11th grade. The exhibit will be on display through July 2018 and is open to the public. Hundreds of thousands of passengers from around the world will see it!
In 2015, Philadelphia was honored with the prestigious distinction of being named the Nation's First “World Heritage City” by the international Organization of World Heritage Cities. This exhibition celebrates Philadelphia’s distinctive heritage as well as the creativity and talent of the city’s next generation of global citizens.
